The Chinese Ministry of Health added eight new cases of coronavirus imported from abroad on Monday, despite the country not registering infection at local level for another day.
According to the agency’s latest assessment, four of the new cases were registered in Inner Mongolia, two in Guangdong Province, one in Shanghai and one in Shandong.
As of Sunday, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in mainland China is 83,602, of which 310 are receiving medical treatment, three of which are in severe condition. The number of pandemic deaths in the country remains at 4,634.
The authorities reported the positive of a total of 1,979 people from abroad, of whom 1,893 were discharged after their recovery and 86 are still in hospital.
