Chilean Health Minister Enrique Paris insisted this Saturday that “we must not lower our weapons in the fight against COVID-19” and assured that they are “prepared” for a possible outbreak.
“We implemented active search for cases nationwide and found 23 percent of new cases,” said the minister, who highlighted the performance of 28,499 diagnostic tests for coronavirus, a record number in the country.
According to the latest health authorities’ balance sheet, carried out this Saturday, the daily cases of coronavirus have fallen again from 2,000, reports the newspaper “La Tercera”.
Under-Secretary of State for Health Networks, Arturo Zúñiga, has confirmed 1,777 new infections in the past 24 hours, 552 of them asymptomatic. This brings the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 383,902.
