The Chilean Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that 1,462 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed. This is the lowest number since May 11, when 1,197 were confirmed.
With these additional cases, Chile has a total of 362,962 infected and 9,745 deaths from the disease, according to the newspaper “La Tercera”, after another 38 deaths have been confirmed.
Chilean Health Minister Enrique Paris stressed that the executive “fortunately can continue to release positive numbers” this Tuesday, noting that confirmed cases have decreased 13 percent in the past seven days and 16 percent in the past 14.
Regarding the occupancy of beds in intensive care units, Paris has reported that it is currently at 80 percent and that no Chilean region has an occupancy rate of more than 90 percent.
Likewise, the Chilean health authorities have reported that 336,330 people in the country have managed to recover from COVID-19, even though the number of active cases is 6,887.
