Chilean Health Minister Enrique Paris announced on Wednesday that the quarantines in 63 municipalities in the country will continue to be maintained for at least a week after he announced that the balance of coronavirus victims has increased to more than 280,000 cases and 5,700 deaths.
In the past 24 hours, Chile has registered another 2,650 coronavirus cases, a total of 282,043, and another 65 deaths from COVID-19, representing 5,753 deaths.
Of the total number of reported cases, 30,847 are still active, of which 2,075 had to be admitted to intensive care units, including 407 whose condition is serious. In addition, 245,443 people have overcome the disease.
As with the daily appearance on Tuesday, the contagion curve in Paris “improved slightly”, as there was an 18 percent drop in new cases in the last seven days and a 19 percent decrease in the last seven days “in the last 14”.
