Chile recorded more than 2,000 new infections this Saturday, so the country has exceeded 328,000 coronavirus cases, according to the latest balance offered by the Ministry of Health.
The agency has reported that 98 deaths and 2,185 more deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours after health authorities have included data from the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS).
With these new numbers, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 has reached 8,445, while Chile has reached 328,846 infections nationwide.
The authorities have also stated that 1,792 patients are hospitalized in intensive care units, of which 301 are in serious condition and require 1,465 respirators, according to the local newspaper ‘Emol’.
Chilean health minister Enrique Paris has confirmed that the positive results from diagnostic tests for coronavirus at national level have reached an average of 13 percent.
