Chile exceeds 150,000 cases after adding another 5,500 infections on the last day

Chile broke the barrier of 150,000 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and added another 5,500 more infections on the last day. Chile is the third most punished Latin American country after Brazil and Peru.

According to State Secretary of Public Health, Arturo Zúñiga, there were 5,596 new cases on Wednesday, of which 5,089 had symptoms and 507 were asymptomatic. The total is 154,092. On the other hand, 173 more people died, increasing the death toll to 2,648.

At the moment, according to the Under Secretary of State quoted by Agency One, 1,618 patients are in intensive care units, of whom 1,379 are ventilated and 386 are in critical condition.

There are currently 331 ventilators available in the country and 452 anesthesia devices are used for mechanical ventilation, bringing a total of 783 invasive ventilation teams. In addition, there are 12,310 places or beds available for people who need to be quarantined.
