Chile exceeds 110,000 cases of coronavirus after adding nearly 5,000 in a day

Chile has exceeded 110,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and added nearly 5,000 on the last day. This is an upward trend that has caused the government to maintain the declared quarantine for the metropolitan area, the main source of infection.

Under-Secretary of State for Public Health Paula Daza told Wednesday’s daily press conference that 4,942 new cases of coronavirus have occurred in a total of 113,628 people over the past 24 hours.

In terms of deaths, the South American nation has broken another record of daily deaths, with another 87, increasing the global balance to 1,275 people killed by COVID-19.

Of the total number of confirmed cases, 21,605 are still active, including 1,475 in intensive care units, of which 339 are serious, while 90,748 have already been restored.
