Chile adds another 64 deaths and more than 1,900 new cases of COVID-19 for the fourth straight day

The Chilean Ministry of Health reported this Monday that there had been another 64 deaths and more than 1,900 new cases of coronavirus for the fourth straight day.

Of the 1,903 cases found in the last 24 hours, 1,265 have symptoms, 580 are asymptomatic, and 58 are currently unreported. Thus, a total of 399,568 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

The number of deaths, on the other hand, rose to 10,916. The patients who have managed to recover are currently 372,464, according to the newspaper ‘El Mercurio’.

The government has warned that there are currently 16,188 active cases on Chilean territory, with a positivity rate of 6.9 percent. The laboratories ran 27,464 tests on the last day, bringing them to over 2.2 million tests.

There are still 1,014 people in intensive care in hospitals, of whom 742 are on mechanical ventilation and 140 are in critical condition.
