The World Economic Forum (WEF) has recognized six blockchain companies as technological pioneers for 2020 in its list of 100 companies “from the initial phase to the growth phase”.
According to the FEM website Blockchain and cryptocurrency startups recognized as pioneers for new technologies and innovations in 2020 are: Lightning Labs, Chainlink, MakerDAO, the bitcoin analysis company Elliptic, the Latin American crypto startup Ripio and Veridium Labs.
These are among the 100 companies worldwide selected for their contributions to cutting-edge technology “Artificial intelligence to diagnose cancer, quantum computer systems, to technologies for carbon separation and removal, to produce cultivated meat in cells and to use the microbiome to trace goods.”

Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov said that The company was delighted with this award.
“The use of smart contracts in the blockchain to provide enforceable guarantees for contractual obligations has broad social and economic benefits. We are proud to play a role in providing accounting and automation to the global and local economy and look forward to to contribute to the dialogues of the forum on this challenge. “
Blockchain was named a pioneer in 2016
Since 2000, FEM has selected technology companies from prominent and future companies as technology pioneers. Traditional companies like Mozilla, Spotify, Twitter, and Google were on this list, but recently blockchain companies have been recognized much more often.
In 2015, Ripple was named a technology pioneer by FEM. The forum recognized Blockchain (the company) in 2016 for its role in empowering millions for global authentication and transaction.
