The party of the Peruvian presidential candidate Pedro Castillo, Peru Libre, this Monday demanded that the National Office for Electoral Processes (ONPE) publish information and scan election documents in the results portal of the second round of the presidential elections.
The formation has underlined in a declaration that the procedure for the publication of the election results on the ONPE website “requires the application of the due process of information security for the digital storage of the votes”.
“We call on the ONPE to ensure the correct protection of the voting data in the appropriate protocol, which is to be applied before the publication of the results by national and / or foreign technology providers who are responsible for the publication of the results,” the party said in one Statement that Castillo shared on his Twitter profile.
According to these guidelines, Peru Libre has requested that officials, including the head of the electoral organization, María Elena Tillit Roig, and the head of electoral information and technology, Roberto Carlos Montenegro, “secure” in the interests of transparency and conscientious respect for the will of the citizen publishing the information and scanning the log.
“We urge them to proceed with greater care when performing their functions,” concluded the training in a statement.
The ONPE, which publishes all the minutes in the results portal, continues to check the votes of the Peruvian elections this Sunday and reached 94.402 percent of the minutes counted with Pedro Castillo at the top with 50.265 percent of the support of the voters, but very much even with the candidate of Fuerza Popular , Keiko Fujimori, who adds 49.735 percent.
