July 29th Cardano (ADA) will migrate from the Byron era to Shelley via a previously planned hard fork. The team stated that normal blockchain operations are not expected to be disrupted, saying that “this is the time Shelley is brought to life on the mainnet” by introducing features such as stakeholders, delegations and rewards, and one New era opens decentralization for Cardano. “

The founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, who is extremely optimistic about the future of the platform, expects thousands of decentralized applications and tons of projects to be available on the new mainnet within a year:
A continuation of romance
Byron’s transition to Shelley appears to be proceeding on schedule, with no major deviations envisaged. The market appears to agree with the project’s progress as the ADA price has increased exponentially in recent months.

The two great romantic poets Percy Shelley and Lord Byron, after whom Cardano’s main network iterations are named, had a complicated relationship. Historically speaking Byron survived his rival by two years. In Cardano’s universe, Shelley and Byron are unlikely to shake hands before ever meeting again if everything goes according to plan.
The hard fork happens just two days before Ethereum’s fifth birthday (ETH). another project co-founded by Hoskinson. There have been major concerns between the two projects and their creators in the past.
