According to Johns Hopkins University, California is the first state in the United States to have more than half a million coronavirus infections.
In particular, the state had totaled 501,412 infections up to this Saturday and is considered to be the most affected by the pandemic in the country.
California has had 9,233 pandemic deaths and more than 6,000 people stay in hospitals or intensive care units. Florida and Texas closely follow with more than 480,000 and 444,000 infections, respectively.
California Governor Gavin Newsom ordered indoor restaurants, bars, wine shops, movie theaters, zoos, and museums to shut down in July to prevent the spread of the corona virus across the state.
