Britain is banning house meetings in Manchester and other areas due to an increase in infections

The UK has announced plans to ban social gatherings in homes in Manchester and other northern parts of the country, arguing that “unfortunately, the authorities have found” an increase in the transmission rate “of COVID-19.

UK health minister Matt Hancock explained that the spread of the disease in these areas is “mainly” due to the fact that people gather in homes and do not respect physical distance.

As of this Friday, gatherings of people from different households within a residence in Manchester, Leicester, West Yorkshire and East Lancashire are prohibited to “ensure people’s safety”.

“We carried out this action with great regret, but we can see the rising rates of COVID-19 across Europe and are committed to doing everything we can to ensure people’s safety,” said Hancock via his Twitter social account Network.
