Brazil exceeded 4.5 million cases of COVID-19 this Saturday after confirming more than 33,000 additional cases in the past 24 hours. This can be seen from the balance offered by the country’s Ministry of Health.
In Brazil, the third country most affected by the pandemic after the USA and India, 4,528,240 people have so far been infected with COVID-19. Of them, 33,057 were diagnosed that day.
Sao Paulo is the state hardest hit by the pandemic with 931,673 positive results. This is followed by Bahía with 294.210 and Minas Gerais with 268.009.
Brazilian health officials have also reported 739 additional deaths from COVID-19, bringing the global death toll to 136,532.
The Brazilian Ministry of Health has highlighted that 3,820,095 people have managed to recover from the disease caused by the new coronavirus since the pandemic began. A total of 571,613 cases are still classified as active.
