Brazil recorded a 12 percent decrease in the number of deaths in August compared to the previous month when it was 32,912, up from 28,947 in the last four weeks.
This data is extracted from the numbers managed by the alliance that woven some Brazilian media outlets at the start of the health crisis – including the Folha de Sao Paulo, Estadao, or the Globo network Denounce President Jair Bolsonaro for allegedly hidden the real numbers of the pandemic.
The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported 45,961 new infections this Monday, which means that the country has already accumulated 3,908,272 cases. The death toll is 121,381 after adding the last 553.
Authorities have also emphasized that there are 3,097,734 people who have already managed to overcome the disease, although another 689,157 are still under medical observation.
