The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported Tuesday that more than 40,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, which is why the country is approaching two million infected people, a number that borders on more than 74,000 who died from the disease.
According to the balance offered by the Brazilian health authorities, the Latin American country has 1,926,824 confirmed cases of coronavirus after 41,857 new positives were registered. As for the deceased, there have been records of over 1,300 others in the past 24 hours, increasing the worldwide number to 74,133 deaths.
The Brazilian health authorities have highlighted that the number of people recovered from COVID-19 reached 1,209,208 on Tuesday. According to the Brazilian Ministry of Health, this number is higher than the number of active coronavirus cases (643,483). It also accounts for 62.8 percent of all registered cases.
The media alliance, which was set up to counter the lack of transparency of the Brazilian executive in communicating pandemic data in the country, has estimated the number of additional deaths at 1,341, for a total of 74,262. Regarding the number of infections, the media, including G1 or Folha de Sao Paulo, found 43,245 on the last day, based on information from the state health authorities. The number of cases thus reaches 1,931,204.
