Brazil accumulated more than four million cases of the new coronavirus this Thursday, while the death toll is already 124,614, after 834 more deaths were confirmed on the last day, the Brazilian Ministry of Health announced.
Health officials have said the number of confirmed cases is 4,041,638 after the 43,773 infections diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
The number of people who have overcome the disease has also increased, and there are already 3,247,610 patients discharged since the pandemic started in Brazil. The first case was registered in Sao Paulo in early March.
They added that 669,414 people are still under medical supervision.
According to a study by the newspaper “Folha de Sao Paulo”, Brazil has seen a decline in infections in 70 percent of its 234 cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants in the past few days.
