Brazil has confirmed nearly 38,000 coronavirus cases and more than 1,000 deaths in the past 24 hours

The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported this Saturday that almost 38,000 new cases of coronavirus and more than 1,000 deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours.

In particular, the balance offered by the Brazilian health authorities has confirmed 37,923 additional COVID-19 infections, which has increased the worldwide number in the country to 1,577,004 cases. In the deaths, the 1,091 new deaths add up to 64,265.

The state of Sao Paulo is most affected by the pandemic, with 312,530 positive events registered, of which 1,828 were registered this Saturday. In terms of the number of deaths, too, it remains at the top at 15,996. After Sao Paulo are Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais with 120,440 infections and 55,958 respectively.

In addition, the Brazilian Ministry of Health has highlighted that 876,359 people across the country have been cured of coronavirus, which is 55.6 percent of all cases accumulated. This number is also higher than the number of currently active cases (636,380) that are still under medical supervision.
