The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that it has verified more than 40,000 new cases of coronavirus and nearly 1,400 additional deaths in the past 24 hours.
According to the Brazilian health authorities, the country diagnosed 41,008 new positives on Tuesday, so that 2,159,654 cases of COVID-19 have already been confirmed. After 1,367 deaths on Tuesday, Brazil has 81,487 deaths.
In Brazil, 1,465,970 people managed to recover from the disease, a higher number than in active cases (612,197), which are still under medical supervision.
In this context, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has announced that he has undergone a new COVID-19 diagnostic test, the second since he confirmed in early July that he was infected with the virus.
