Brazil added 684 new deaths from COVID-19 this Monday, including that of a worker in the Government Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, bringing the pandemic to 108,536 deaths since the pandemic began five months ago.
The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported 19,373 new positive results, bringing the total number of accumulated cases to 3,359,570. On the other hand, 2,478,494 people have overcome the disease while another 772,540 remain under medical supervision.
For its part, the General Secretariat of the Brazilian Presidency has confirmed that Maria Helena Ribeiro Maier, a public order and governance specialist who has died of workers at the Planalto Palace in COVID-19 since 2011, left the Special Secretariat for Federal Affairs.
According to the government, Maier, who had been working from home since the beginning of the pandemic, has died as a result of the coronavirus disease.
