The Brazilian government has extended the entry ban for foreigners of all nationalities by a further 30 days to combat the coronavirus pandemic by a decree passed on Friday.

The ban affects the entry of foreigners in all ways, whether by air, land or sea. This period can be extended on the recommendation of the National Agency for Hygiene Vigilance (Anvisa), the agency that recommended this measure, Brazil Agency.

However, the restriction does not apply to native or naturalized Brazilians, to immigrants who are permanent residents of Brazil, to foreign professionals who are employees of an international organization, or to passengers who are in international transit to other countries.
