The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced this Sunday that the country’s deaths have already exceeded 87,000 and that the total number of people affected is now 2.4 million after nearly 25,000 new cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.
In particular, the Ministry confirmed a total of 24,578 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 2,419,901. In addition, 555 other deceased were registered, up to 87,004 deaths.
The Ministry of Health bulletin reports that 1,634,274 people have recovered from the disease, although 673,813 people are still observed, according to the Estadao newspaper.
Although the numbers seem to be less than the last few days, the ministry reminds that, given the week-end cutbacks in the statistical centers, the numbers will be adjusted upwards as of this Monday.
