Brazil exceeds 25,000 deaths and Sao Paulo expands by forty, which allows companies to reopen

The Brazilian Ministry of Health has confirmed 1,086 new deaths in the last 24 hours due to COVID-19 this Thursday, for a total of 25,598, while Sao Paulo Governor Joao Doria has announced an expansion of the 14-day quarantine with varying degrees of flexibility depending on the situation in the individual regions.

In terms of the number of confirmed cases, health authorities have added 20,599 new infections, for a total of 411,821. So far, 166,647 people have been recovered, which corresponds to 40 percent of those affected.

The ministry has reported that another 4,100 deaths are under investigation. On the other hand, the overall balance of states has not changed, and Sao Paulo remains the most affected area with 89,483 infections and 6,712 deaths.

However, Doria has announced that Sao Paulo will have a new 14-day quarantine extension from June 1, with the novelty that it will vary depending on the situation in each region and city of the state.
