Brazil surpassed 2.8 million people with coronavirus on Tuesday, a number that, according to the latest data from the country’s health ministry, has reached more than 95,000 deaths from the disease.
In particular, Brazil has 2,801,921 COVID-19 cases, 51,603 of which have been discovered in the last 24 hours. As for deaths, the 1,154 found on the last day increased the balance to 95,819 deaths.
By region, the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo is most affected by the pandemic, with 575,589 positive results. 15,371 new cases have been added in the last 24 hours. Behind him are Ceará with 179,341 – 2,380 additional – and Bahia with 175,389 – 3,998 new -.
Regarding COVID-19 deaths, the most confirmed state is also Sao Paulo, 23,702. Rio de Janeiro and Ceará follow with 13,715 and 7,806 respectively.
The Brazilian health authorities have also highlighted that 1,970,767 people have recovered from the disease in the Latin American country, a number that is higher than that of the still active cases (735,335).
