The Brazilian government has confirmed more than 45,000 new coronavirus cases in the country in the past 24 hours this Thursday, breaking the barrier of two million infections with more than 76,600 deaths.
The Brazilian Ministry of Health said on its website that 45,403 cases and 1,322 deaths were confirmed on the last day, for a total of 2,012,151 and 76,688, respectively.
It was also found that around 1.3 people recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, while the number of hospital patients was 639,135.
The ministry has indicated that the region most affected to date is the southeast, with 689,209 cases for the 673,493 cases confirmed in the northeast region. The region north is behind with 340,656; the Midwest at 164,263; and the south with 144,530.
