The Brazilian Ministry of Health has confirmed 30,830 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours this Friday, bringing the total number of people affected by the pandemic in the country, the epicenter of the virus in Latin America, to 645,771 positive cases.
According to the latest state of affairs released by the Brazilian press, a further 1,005 people in the country have died from COVID-19 and a total of 35,026 people have been killed in the country due to the pandemic. In addition, 11,977 people in Brazil recovered on the last day after overcoming the coronavirus.
The Brazilian states, which recorded the most cases in the last 24 hours, were Sao Paulo with 5,365 and Bahia with 2,965. Sao Paulo has confirmed 281 further pandemic deaths, according to Agencia Brasil, followed by Rio de Janeiro at 146.
However, several local media have denounced the lack of transparency and delays in government-provided coronavirus data. They have assured that there is still a lack of overall data on the pandemic in the country that has so far been offered.
