Brazil added more than 23,500 new coronavirus infections this Sunday, and close to 80,000 deaths from the pandemic in the country.
The Brazilian Ministry of Health has reported that 23,529 new cases and 716 deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 2,098,389 and the number of deaths to 79,488.
In addition, the agency has indicated that 1,371,229 people have already recovered after the existence of COVID-19.
The ministry has indicated that the most severely affected region to date is the southeast with 717,154 infections. followed by the northeast region with 700,683 positive results. The northern region lies behind with 351,754; the Midwest at 173,720; and the south with 155,078.
The Brazilian media alliance, which includes the newspapers ‘Estadao’ and ‘Folha de Sao Paulo’, the group ‘O Globo’ and the news portal UOL, in turn has the same number of deaths and a number registered greater contagion.
