Brazil has confirmed over 1,500 COVID-19 deaths and a record 69,000 positive in the past 24 hours, according to the country’s health ministry this Wednesday.
In particular, the Brazilian authorities reported 1,595 new deaths from the disease, bringing the worldwide death toll in Brazil to 90,134.
The Department of Health, for its part, reported that 69,074 new cases of coronavirus were discovered on the last day. A total of 2,552,265 people have been infected in Brazil, the second largest pandemic country in the world.
Of the Brazilian states, Ceará remains the most affected by the coronavirus pandemic, with 165,550 cases, of which 3,121 have been registered in the last 24 hours. This is followed by Rio de Janeiro with 159,639 – 1,805 new and Bahia with 153,313 – 4,204 additional -.
The Brazilian health authorities have highlighted that 1,787,419 have been able to recover from the disease in the Latin American country, a number that is higher than that of the still active cases (675,712).
