The Brazilian ministry confirmed the deaths of 1,271 people on Tuesday, with 116,580 deaths across the country since the health emergency was enacted. This week a new moving average of 950 daily deaths was hit.
In the last 24 hours, the authorities have diagnosed 47,134 new positive results, so that 3,669,995 cases have already been accumulated. On the other hand, 2,848,395 people are rescued while 705,020 people are still being watched.
The epicenter of the pandemic is Sao Paulo as it concentrates the most cases and deaths at 765,670 and 28,912 respectively. It follows Rio de Janeiro with 214,003 accumulated positives and 15,560 deaths.
On that occasion, the Ministry of Health’s balance has confirmed more new cases and more deaths than the part that the Brazilian Media Alliance launches every day. As of Tuesday, 1,215 deaths and 46,959 positive results were reported after taking into account data from the various state secretaries for health.
The improvised alliance of the main communications media – including the Folha de Sao Paulo and Estadao newspapers and the services of the Globo network – took place shortly after the health crisis began, after the government of Jair Bolsonaro had hidden information and actual numbers of the Pandemic.
