The Brazilian Ministry of Health reported this Monday that more than 10,000 new cases of coronavirus have been discovered, while the Latin American country has already recorded nearly 127,000 deaths from the disease after registering another 300.
In particular, after the balance offered by the Brazilian health authorities, 10,273 new positive results have been found, which has increased the country’s global number to 4,147,794 cases of COVID-19. In terms of deaths, the 310 registered in the last 24 hours add up to 126,960.
Sao Paulo continues to lead the way as the Brazilian state hardest hit by the pandemic. 857,330 positive results, 1,068 were noted this Monday. This is followed by Bahia with 271,963 – 738 new ones – and Rio de Janeiro with 233,052 – 234 additional ones.
In the meantime, the Doctors’ Association of Sao Paulo has announced that 244 doctors have died as a result of the disease since the coronavirus pandemic began in Brazil, as the G1 portal reports.
The first of the deaths occurred on March 22nd and the last on September 2nd. Among the victims, 88 percent are men, and 45 percent of them were over 60 years old. On the other hand, the state that has counted the most deaths is Sao Paulo, 51 in total, followed by Rio de Janeiro, which has found 40.
