Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has warned state governors that failing to comply with the new decree opening major sectors, including manicure centers and gyms, could provoke the Ministry of Justice’s intervention.
Meanwhile, in its last installment, the Brazilian Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of 881 people from Covid-19 on Tuesday. This is the highest number in just 24 hours.
The new number of confirmed deaths on Tuesday increased the number to 12,400, while the contagion rate was 177,589 after more than 9,200 were registered on the last day.
Prior to announcing half of the governors of the states that make up Brazil to refuse to comply with this new decree, the president himself warned that if the US Department of Justice and Attorney General fails to comply, the state would respond “to take the appropriate action”.
