Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro returned to work at Planalto Palace on Monday after spending several weeks in isolation because of coronavirus.
“I have already been vaccinated, but I am avoiding such contact,” he told his supporters at the entrance to the Planalto Palace, where he will meet several ministers this Monday, according to the G1 news portal.
Bolsonaro announced on July 7 that it had tested positive for COVID-19. He then limited himself to the official residence of the Alvorada Palace, from where he continued to work.
Finally, last Saturday and after several diagnostic tests, he announced that he had tested negative in the last test. The same day, he left Alvorada Palace to take a motorcycle tour of Brasilia, where he was photographed without a mask.
Brazil is the second largest country in the world after the United States, most affected by the pandemic. There are already more than 2.4 million cases and more than 84,000 deaths, despite the fact that Bolsonaro has hardly taken any national measures and that the health crisis is in the hands of states and municipalities.
