Bolsonaro prohibits for 60 days the burning in all Brazil to fight fires in the Amazon

BRAZIL, Aug 29 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, has banned from this Thursday and for a period of 60 days the burning throughout the country in order to help end the fires that are ravaging the Amazon and have generated a wave of criticism at the level international.

The decree of suspension of the permit to make fire has been published this Thursday in the Official Gazette and contemplates as only exceptions phytosanitary controls, provided they are authorized by a competent environmental body; fire prevention and prevention practices; and subsistence farming practices of traditional and indigenous populations, according to the agency Brazil.

On the other hand, the Government has reported a decrease in the outbreaks of fire in the Amazon in recent days, particularly in Rondonia.
