BRAZIL, Dec. 17 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, has announced the end of the production agreement for the broadcast of TV Escola, an educational television that according to the president was “totally left” and that promoted the “gender ideology”.
“Do you know the programming of TV Escola? Deseduca. It was a totally left programming, of gender ideology. Public money for gender ideology. This has to change,” he said in a press appearance in front of the Palacio de la Alvorada, according to Pick up the Brazilian press.
In addition, Bolsonaro has charged against one of the main figures of the chain, the disseminator Paulo Freire, who has labeled “energuminous,” according to the Brazilian press.
Bolsonaro has thus defended the cancellation of the Government's contract with the Association of Educational Communications Roquette Pinto (ACERP) that supported the public channel and recalled that the contract was for 350 million reais (about 77 million euros) and had no clear period of validity. “350 million that were going to be thrown away,” he reproached.
