Bolivia withdraws and repeals the decree on dissemination of information during the coronavirus pandemic

May 15, 2020

The Bolivian government backed out this Thursday and lifted the decree approving criminal sanctions for the dissemination of information that “creates public uncertainty” during the coronavirus pandemic.

This was achieved through a Supreme Decree 4236, which the Ministry of the Bolivian Presidency reported on the social network Facebook.

In particular, his only article points out that, in addition to the provision of Decree 4231 in question, two paragraphs of two other Decrees 4200 and 4199, both from March this year and with similar content, are also declared null and void.
