Bolivia approves the entry of five missions that will oversee the electoral process

The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) of Bolivia this Wednesday confirmed entry into the Andean country to the European Union (EU) observer missions already in the country, the Carter Center, the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations, the Association of Electoral Organizations of South America and the Organization of American States (OAS).

With the approval of a regulation by the TSE, the conditions, requirements and procedures for the surveillance and election observation of the missions were established.

In addition to the international initiatives, national initiatives such as La Ruta de la Democracia or Observa Bolivia, which are mainly formed by civil society organizations, will join the monitoring of the electoral process.

In a statement, the electoral body stated that these missions should “respect the impartiality, efficiency and legality of the organization of the process and respect for the political rights of the citizens and organizations who participate in them”.
