The blockchain-based tracking platform VeChain is used to advance the release of a limited edition of Nike shoes Air Max 1 licensed.

On June 24, the Australian shoemaker announced Chase Shiel and retailer The Kickz Stand teamed up to produce a limited series of sneakers., which are also based on Stussy’s “SB Dunk” shoe, released in 2005.

The shoes will come off for sale from June 28th and is sold exclusively on the Chase Shiel website.

Kickz Stand announced the upcoming limited release of Air Max 1 inspired shoes on June 24th. posted a tweet highlighting that shoes are being tracked with VeChains ToolChain Suite and Thor Blockchain.

The Australian shoemaker announced for the first time that he would work with VeChain November 2019and announced in a tweet that the tracking platform would be used to test authenticity and combat counterfeit products.

Although the decision to work with a licensed shoe manufacturer to ensure the authenticity of non-genuine Nike can be amusing for some, it is Redditor ‘Nopers5’ believes blockchain companies will try to get a call from Nike themselves when they see VeChain’s work with licensees::

“This is the best Vechain strategy. It targets small footwear companies that have launched licensed Nike products, and maybe Nike will call sometime.”

VeChain expands food tracking in China

Earlier this month, VeChain announced partnerships with the Walmart subsidiary and premium retail chain Sam’s Club and the Shenzhen Yuhongtai Foods Company.

In collaboration with Sam’s Club, a modified version of ToolChain is used to track a variety of foods across the Sam’s Club supply chainWhile ToolChain is used to track pork products for Yuhongtai’s retailer Meijiada Fresh Foods.

June 20th VeChain’s medical data management platform “I-Dante” was also launched at the Mediterranean Hospital of the Republic of Cyprus.
