The Liechtenstein-based international cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex Global has extended credit and debit card support to 125 other countries .
Following an earlier introduction of the service for residents of the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands, the exchange announced its significant global extension of support for the Visa on April 20.
In addition to making fiduciary deposits and trading directly with their Visa cards, users can now access other features such as conditional orders and trading with euros on the recently launched platform Bittrex Euromarkets.
Stephen Stonberg, chief financial and operations officer for Bittrex Global has said that Visa support is an important advance for investors, noting:
“During the current market volatility, we are seeing more and more people seek diversification of digital assets. Our goal is to provide them with an experience that shows that cryptocurrency trading is as perfect as any traditional asset class.”
Bittrex Global, which launched in September 2019 and subsequently registered for regulation under the Liechtenstein Blockchain Law , reportedly plans to roll out more fiat currency gateways globally in the near future.
New options for Visa purchases
Binance, like Bittrex , has made an effort to expand its fiat gateways in recent months and is currently supporting cryptocurrency purchases with credit cards in more than 50 jurisdictions.
As with Coinbase's recent announcement about its Visa affiliation , some industry players are trying to go beyond Visa gateways to provide crypto-specific debit cards.
