United States President Joe Biden and his wife Jill were forced to be evacuated by the Secret Service from their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware this Saturday after apparently accidentally discovering a private plane’s entry into restricted space.
“A private plane has entered the restricted airspace, all indications are that it was an error. Precautions have been taken,” a White House spokesman told Politico. “There was no threat to the President or his family,” he added.
A spokesman for the secret service, Anthony Guglielmi, stated that the incident occurred before 1 p.m. and that the plane was immediately escorted out of the restricted area.
As soon as that intrusion was discovered, the Bidens were moved to a nearby fire station, Rehoboth Beach Fire Station chief Chuck Snyder told NBC News.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the pilot did not have the correct radio channel, did not follow issued NOTAMS (Informs Airmen) and did not follow his published flight plan. US intelligence will speak with the pilot,” he explained.
