Democratic White House candidate Joe Biden accused United States President Donald Trump on Sunday of attempting to end the Affordable Care Act (ACA for its acronym), better known as Obamacare ‘with the appointment of Justice Amy Coney Barrett as a Supreme Court candidate just over a month before the election.
“President Trump sees the opportunity to fulfill his explicit mission: to steal the vital protection of the ACA from countless families,” Biden told USA Today during a campaign rally in Wilmington, Delaware.
“What is happening here is no mystery. (…) The Republican Party has been trying to get rid of it for a decade,” criticized the Democratic candidate, who recalled how the Supreme Court had ratified this legislation twice in 2010.
Biden has called Barrett’s controversial nomination an “abuse of power” as expected after the November 3rd elections because he believes the Trump administration is calling on the Supreme Court to end “Obamacare” amid the worst global health crisis for a century. “
