The Belgian government announced this Thursday, after the meeting of the National Security Council, the return to classes for all levels of education, albeit with special security measures due to the coronavirus.
As Belgian Prime Minister Sophie Wilmes explained at a press conference, a color code is used in schools, which is linked to various security measures. The course starts in September on the yellow level on a scale from green to red to yellow and orange.
This means that students over 12 and teachers must wear the mask in school at the start of the course. In places where the incidence of the virus continues to increase, schools can make changes in the color code and thus in the measures.
“It is important to ensure that our children can return to school safely,” defended the Belgian “Prime Minister”, who stated that the color scheme was agreed between the federal government, regional governments and the education sector.
