The lower grades of Beijing primary schools have temporarily suspended classes after three new coronavirus infections in the Chinese capital have been confirmed in the past two days.
More than half a million first, second, and third grade elementary school students should return to class in Beijing next Monday, June 15. However, confirmation of two new infections this Friday and another one last Thursday has paralyzed the calendar for younger students.
In the same announcement, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission has also asked out-of-school educational institutions to suspend the restart of class courses and group activities.
On the other hand, high school students who have returned to school will continue their classes and the lesson plans will be adapted to the situation of epidemic prevention and control in the capital.
