The authorities in Beijing this Tuesday have ordered all schools in the Chinese capital to close due to an increase in coronavirus cases, so that students must continue to study from home.
The decision has been made since last week, after weeks of local containment, a contagion broke out, the state-run newspaper China Daily said.
The local government said in a statement that all prevention and control measures used in the education sector must be strictly followed. Likewise, all people who want to leave the city must be tested on COVID-19.
The Chinese Ministry of Health has reported 40 new cases of coronavirus, 27 of which were discovered in Beijing. This is in connection with the new focus of infection, which starts from a wholesale market in the Fengtai district in the southwest of the capital with 106 inhabitants, all infections since last Thursday. This has prompted the government to launch a plan with 90,000 daily tests.
