The Chinese Ministry of Health reported Thursday 28 new cases of coronavirus, 21 of them in Beijing, related to the new outbreak of infections in a wholesale market in the southwest Fengtai District that has resulted in partial closure. from the capital and the escalation to level two of the health warning.

Beijing has confirmed 159 infections since last weekend, which have led to the closure of schools, the return to custody in some districts, the cancellation of flights, the restriction of public transport and even the temporary cessation of imports of salmon, after some media warned that the virus may have been found in one of the fishmongers in the Xinfadi market.

Health officials have said that in addition to the 21 cases in Beijing, there were three other local transmission cases, two in Hebei Province and one in Tianjin Township, both regions in the northeast of the country.
