Beijing has registered 17 more cases of coronavirus and is carrying out diagnostic tests on more than three million people

Beijing has registered 17 new cases of coronavirus due to the wholesale market outbreak in the southwestern Fengtai district this Friday, and there are already 297 infections, despite the fact that the capital has carried out COVID-19 tests on more than three million people.

According to the city government, around 15 percent of the capital’s population has undergone the coronavirus test since the outbreak on June 11, although the authorities have confirmed that the focus is under control.

“We will continue to see more people infected in the near future, but the disease is under control,” said China’s Department of Health chief epidemiologist Wu Zunyou, according to the South China Morning Post.
