The Chinese Ministry of Health confirmed 14 new cases of coronavirus in Beijing on Sunday after the recent wholesale market outbreak in the southwestern Fengtai District, causing a total of 311 positive cases in the city.
Of the infections registered in mainland China in the past 24 hours, 14 are transmitted locally and three are from abroad. With them, the total number of confirmed cases in the country rose to 83,500, while the number of deaths remained at 4,634.
This Saturday, seven patients were discharged after their recovery. In addition, the authorities reported 1,902 cases imported from abroad, of which 1,816 were released and 86 remain in hospital.
A total of 7,445 people who were in close contact with an infected person are still under medical supervision after 692 people were released on the last day.
