June 20, 2020

Beijing added 22 cases of locally transmitted coronavirus on Friday after the recent outbreak in the Chinese capital and related to the wholesale market in the southwest Fengtai District, which has caused a total of 205 cases so far.

Chinese scientists have warned that Beijing is still unable to relax given the recent outbreak. This was highlighted by Zeng Guang, chief scientist at the Chinese Ministry of Health, who said it was better to keep citizens “vigilant”.

“Although the outbreak is under control, there are still many fundamental issues to be resolved, such as how to avoid the recurrence of the epidemic,” he said, according to the South China Morning Post.
