In a press conference in which he took stock of the seventh round of negotiations between Brussels and London, the French diplomat expressed his “disappointment” at the British team’s low level of commitment and warned that he saw “unlikely”. “Those who expected the negotiations to move forward this week will be disappointed. I am also disappointed, concerned and surprised,” admitted Barnier in a speech full of allegations against the British team given the existing blockade.
