Esteban Moctezuma BarragánThe Minister of Public Education confirmed that the return to classroom teaching across the country will occur on June 1 and that the school year will be six weeks long.

In a virtual meeting with the Political coordinating body of the Chamber of DeputiesThe official noted that until the time of implementation of the National Day of Healthy Distance to stop the outbreak of Covid-19 On March 23, schools had already funded 73% of the study program.

Moctezuma also underlined the success of the Learn at Home program, that Unesco has given this initiative as an example, and that several Latin American countries have asked for help with implementation.

The secretary highlighted the teachers’ response, especially the commitment they made to girls, boys, teenagers and young people during this time. With this in mind, he stressed that there is no attempt to replace the office function; Teachers are irreplaceable.

He commented that based on the free textbooks, more than 1,113 television programs for the Aprende en Casa program were prepared, which will be available until May 31 for pre-school, primary, secondary, and high school students, as well as for teacher training content.
