Austria has included the Balearic Islands in the travel warning it has already issued for mainland Spain, as the number of coronavirus infections has risen, the Austrian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday.
On August 6, the Austrian authorities issued a travel warning for all of Spain with the exception of the Balearic and Canary Islands, which came into force on the 10th. Now they have decided to include the Balearic Islands, although the change will only take effect after 0.00 hours on August 24th.
Austria has already issued travel warnings for a total of 32 countries, including the USA, Brazil and India, which are hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic worldwide. In Europe, Portugal and Sweden as well as Spain stand out.
The Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz recalled at a press conference that, according to the portal, travelers from all these countries have to present a negative result of a test for the corona virus, which was carried out a maximum of 72 hours before, or have to keep quarantine, according to News oe24.
